No, that’s not a typo or a repost. Harold Camping is admitting that he had the details wrong, but he wont admit that he’s totally wrong. He claims that October 21 is the “real” day of destruction. It’s for really real this time people. Maybe.
Camping says that God did come, and he has judged us. Claiming that we have all been judged spiritually and are now awaiting either destruction or deliverance on October 21st. So all his followers believe that it doesn’t matter what they do in the following months, because God has already judged them and the world is going to end anyway.
Do you see anything dangerous here?
If I told you that you could do anything you wanted today and God would still send you to heaven, and that if you get caught doing it you won’t stay in prison very long because the world is going to end tomorrow, what would your flesh recommend you do?
Needless to say, I won’t be sweaty in October. Harold will be, but I won’t. As Leonard Ravenhill put it, “Someday some simple soul will come along, read the Bible and believe it, and put all the so-called learned bible scholars to shame.”
Yet another individual has declared a date in history to be Judgement Day. Doesn’t that make you sick on the inside when you hear about it? Thousands of people are hearing this and associating it with Christianity.
His name is Harold Camping, and he has an entire organization helping him with his endeavor. Family Radio is the organization. Family LIFE Radio is pretty upset about the whole ordeal, as there is bound to be some misunderstandings.
I have searched their website thoroughly for the biblical evidence that they claim to exist. The “gospel truth” as they put it. I was very surprised when they offered none. They don’t even have a single verse that points to a specific date. What evidence do they offer then? I quote:
“Judgment Day on May 21, 2011 is the culmination of five decades of intensive biblical study by Mr. Camping and other bible teachers who have discovered the same biblical data.”
Translation: “Mr. Camping is a smart dude.”
Apparently he has spent enough time in the scriptures that he doesn’t have to tell us what he knows. Because all they are willing to say is “there’s overwhelming evidence” or “Camping couldn’t be wrong” or “He’s right for sure this time“.
In 1994 he predicted the world was going to end and, in case you haven’t noticed, he was wrong that time too.
Enough of human reasoning. I don’t wish to argue about this any more when I could simply drop the bomb. Here is the Doomsday sayers nightmare:
“But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only.”
Camping claims to know both the day and the hour. Jesus Christ did not even know the time which He was going to be sent back. ONLY the Father. So here we have 3 options:
- Jesus Christ was wrong
- Mr. Camping is wrong
- Mr Camping is god
Options 1 and 3 aren’t really options, I just put them there to make a point.
Will I be ready on May 21, at 6:00pm? Yes I will. And I will be ready at 7:00pm also, and 8:00pm. In fact, I will be ready the 22nd, the 23rd, and the 24th. I will be ready in 2011, 2012, and 2013. My Lord is coming when we least expect it, and no man will know the hour.
Over the past couple days I have been evaluating the immorality of both the Nation and individual lives. Pondering where it comes from, and why it is so rampant in our country today in comparison with previous decades. I’m no theologian but I came up with an answer that has satisfied me.
Our country does not have a lust problem. Our country doesn’t have a racism problem. Our problem isn’t hate, anger, greed, politicians, divorce, adultery, hypocrisy, or false prophets. Our evil outward appearance is only the result of an inward problem: Jesus Christ deficiency.
Anytime that Jesus Christ ceases to be the cornerstone of society our natural tendencies to sin will corrupt what the devil doesn’t.
Put that into a personal perspective: you do not lack self control so much as you lack Jesus Christ. You are not angry so much as you are ignorant to the ways of God. Do not waste your time chasing the vices of your life when you can simply and efficiently cut them down at the source. You are a prayer away from complete and total submission. No fancy tricks, no super Christian powers required, no televangelist needed to direct you.
How are we kept from our knees? If God has provided a way out, and made it so simple to escape, then why have we not tapped this resource? I’m not sure. I imagine that it’s a mix of both the devil’s wise manipulation and our own lack of desire for holiness.
The point is summed up perfectly in my favorite verse:
“Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.”
No submission, no resistance.
During one of Obama’s speeches, He left something very important out.
“We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, endowed with certain inalienable rights:
life and liberty and the pursuit of happiness.”
Did you catch it? The declaration of independence says “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights.”
Almost, Mr. President. Almost.
He goes on to say “That’s what makes us unique. That’s what makes us strong.”
No, Mr. President. What makes us strong is He who you refuse to even speak of.
I mean no disrespect to the Catholics who may end up reading this. But I simply cannot take your tradition seriously. I have examined scripture, and have found them to be both pointless and contradictory to the teachings of Jesus Christ.
For example, your near divination of Mary
Take a look at this verse in which Jesus rebukes a woman who praised Mary:
“And it came to pass, as he spake these things, a certain woman of the company lifted up her voice, and said unto him, Blessed [is] the womb that bare thee, and the paps which thou hast sucked. But he said, Yea rather, blessed [are] they that hear the word of God, and keep it.“
Obviously Christ did not see any need to praise his Mother more than any other.
From what I understand, you must perform various miracles and be dead, among other things, to be considered a Saint among the Catholics.
Let us look at another scripture verse regarding Sainthood:
1 Corinthians 1:2
“Unto the church of God which is at Corinth, to them that are sanctified in Christ Jesus, called [to be] saints, with all that in every place call upon the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, both theirs and ours:”
They’re not dead and there are no miracles to speak of. Why are they regarded as Saints? Because they are sanctified in Jesus Christ.
If that’s not enough for you, here’s another one.
“Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellowcitizens with the saints, and of the household of God;”
Ephesians has another troubling opposition to Catholics.
Jesus Christ is the mediator
I quoted Ephesians 2:19, but lets step back a little bit and read what else it has to offer:
“For through him we both have access by one Spirit unto the Father.”
Stop praying to the Saints! Jesus Christ is the only mediator between us and God. Don’t you remember when Saul tried to speak to the prophet Samuel after he had passed away? Was he not rebuked and met with a demon?
“For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: [it is] the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.“
Catholics have tried to earn their salvation in a number of ways, including “hail Marys.” Salvation is not for your to earn, but for God to give. Only through his Son Jesus Christ can you be saved.
And no, you are not supposed to confess to a Priest. Look throughout scripture, you will find that the man of God convicts the sinner, and the sinner repents to God.
David for example. He did no apologize to the Prophet who revealed the sin in his life, but rather he fell before God almighty and begged forgiveness.
Here is an account of a dedicated Catholic during confession:
“He told me I was absolved of my sins, and to go in peace.
I stared at him for a moment. “That’s it? Don’t I have to say Hail Marys? Our Fathers? The Creed? The Rosary? Anything?”
He laughed at me and told me to go do a good deed or something.”

There are too many holes and contradiction in Catholicism for me to offer any respect.
A buddy of mine went to the hospital in April for chugging soy sauce. I had no idea a large amount of it could be lethal. Thankfully, he didn’t drink nearly enough to kill him (I believe 2 liters is lethal.)
While my Youth Pastor was at the hospital, the Doctor spoke with him about all the seemingly harmless foods that can be lethal if consumed in an irregular way. One of which was peanut butter.
This was a surprise to me, and a great many others. It turns out, that if you choke on peanut butter, there is no hope for you. Without bread, apple or some other food to keep it company, it can lodge in your throat and suffocate you despite all the efforts of Doctors or Nurses.
Now let us look at a book that has swept across the Nation, and gripped many hearts young and old. A book that is so cleverly written, you hardly have a choice but to become a part of the story. After only a few pages, you laugh when the characters laugh. You cry when they cry.
What is this book? The Shack.
I am afraid to say, that my comments for the most part will cease. I have very little to appreciate about this book.
As I have said, it is well written. The Author, William P. Young, puts his thoughts and opinions on paper in a way few people can.
But opinions are like peanut butter. A wonderful thing when spread on foods like bread, bananas or apples. But without any substance, with no scripture to back his opinion up, it is lethal.
I wanted to read this book so badly partly because I heard of the controversy surrounding it. However, I never exposed myself to outside opinions aside from quick remarks made from my friends. The following is the result of a non-biased reading.
A couple years ago I did not know too awful much about the Church of Mormon. My only piece of knowledge was that they wrote a book, and added it to the Bible. That in itself turned my heart against them.
Every word of God [is] pure: he [is] a shield unto them that put their trust in him.Add thou not unto his words, lest he reprove thee, and thou be found a liar.
Let us take a look at some of their beliefs, and how they compare to the un-altered word of God.
The Trinity – Not so Trinity:
It is Mormon teaching that the Godhead (Father, Spirit and Son) is not a united being, but actually 3 different people.
Christianity teaches that there is only one God. And he is complete in three forms, found in this verse:
Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
God in Flesh:
Mormonism teaches that God is in physical form. An actual person.
God [is] a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship [him] in spirit and in truth.

What. The. Heck.
I read the following on a church website:

God desires for us all to go to heaven. He doesn’t judge us, or condemn evildoers to hell. Those who choose evil condemn themselves to hell by choosing to withdraw from the Lord’s love and mercy. The Lord God Jesus Christ saved us by showing us how to live our lives. His entire life on earth was about overcoming evils and temptations, and his death was the conclusion of that struggle. Just as we are faced with evils and temptations in our lives, Jesus struggled against those same temptations as a human. In overcoming them, He taught us the way to live. We are saved when we open ourselves to the Lord and his love, and draw nearer to the Lord; and we do that by living our lives loving him. What does that mean? It means obeying his commandments (avoiding evil), being of use and loving others. We may have been taught that believing in the Lord is enough to save. But belief (or faith) without actively living that faith is not truly believing. Certainly, we cannot earn our way to heaven by our works. But we only truly believe or have faith when we actively work to do God’s will. Love (or charity) must be united with faith in order for either to be real.
Jesus saved us, not through his death, but through his life. He overcame evil and restored a sense of balance in the world, leaving us in freedom to choose good or evil. He taught us how we should live our lives; in fact he showed us how to do it. It is only by so doing that we can be truly happy. When we die, we continue to make these choices, which determines whether we live in heaven loving God and doing his will, or turn away from him to hell. Jesus set the stage so that we are free to choose. We must do our part to choose good, which will draw us closer to the Divine. This is how Jesus saves.
I highlighted the special parts.
Not a word of repentance. Not a word of Righteousness. Not a single word from scripture. How dare they.
To say that we are saved by Christ’s life, not his death, is pure ignorance. Pure Blasphemy.
To say God does not send sinners to Hell, is equally so.
Christ was the Lamb SENT to be slain. He came die, not live.
There seams to be a huge misconception about Hell. Let me tell you something:
Heaven is heaven because God is there.
Hell is hell because God is there.
People think Hell is total absence of God, when in reality, it is a place for him to literaly torment for all eternity. Satan is not in control, and the fire comes straight from God almighty.
I may sound like a religious fruit cake. but I wouldn’t have it any other way. Show me a single scripture verse about Gods love, and I will show you ten about his wrath. Jesus Christ spoke more about hell than he did about heaven.
He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.
