I haven’t been this angry in a long time.

In 2008 voters came together to decide the fate of same-sex marriage in California. 52.47% of voters wanted it restricted to only one man and one woman. With a lead of about 504,000 votes, it was an obvious decision.

But lately the government doesn’t care about the opinion of its people.

Yesterday, August 4th 2010, federal judge Vaughn R. Walker told the American people that He understands the constitution better than the rest of us. By stamping the ban as “unconstitutional” He essentially gave the millions of voters a pat on the head while saying “Silly people. Law is government.”

We don’t want this. We told them we don’t want this. We are the people the constitution defends, and it is instead being used against us because a judge fails to interpret it beyond His own nearsightedness.

I’m not going to argue about the morality of homosexuality. I already did that. But I want you to realize where morality comes from:

If there is a God, then it comes from Him.
If there is no god, then it is the opinion of the majority.

But there is a God, and He says no. And the opinion of the majority also says no.

It is a proud and arrogant thing for this judge to say otherwise.
Pray for Him. Pray for Him hard.

I was given the privilege of speaking at a Revival in Indiana. The pastor is the man who got my dad interested in the Church of God, Indiana.

The meetings all went great, and the Spirit of God was undeniable. But I walked away with a new perspective on church, and realized just how many traditions I have come to accept without even realizing it. I just wrote a post a little while ago rebuking many traditions in the Catholic church, all the while being a hypocrite.

So here is a list of un-biblical things that our country knowingly or unknowingly accepts in the Church.

#1 – The Building

Is there something wrong with the body of Christ owning a building designated for worship? Nope. This isn’t about wrong or counter-biblical traditions, but simply UN-biblical traditions. Things we have that was never expected, mentioned or needed in the New Testament.

The Church used to be based in the homes of the congregation. Normally changing in location week to week. The Amish have kept this aspect of the early Church going to this day.

I don’t think it’d be a bad idea to go without a gym or fancy equipment that can distract. The idea of a home-based Church is almost attractive to me. But the impact and ministry of these things are phenomenal.

#2 – Pastors

Odd, eh?

But the Church of the early days did not have a designated leader per congregation. Each had a table of “elders” who would share the burden and take turns speaking and sharing.

Of course, we have a variety of boards and such today in the Church, but I think it is very easy to have too many people in leadership. Any pastor can attest to this, I am sure.

#3 – Multitudes

Jesus had only 12 in his “congregation” if you don’t mind me calling it that. And most of the spiritual meetings in the NT were only a dozen or so. Since then we have grown accustomed to hundreds if not thousands of members in our Churches.

Of course, it is POSSIBLE for those congregations to have peace and love amongst them, but it is no doubt much more difficult. Keeping a close relationship with a thousand other people every week doesn’t sound like a day of rest to me, personally.

#4 – Schedule

Step #1 – Have worship
Step #2 – Have offering
Step #3 – Listen to sermon
Step #4 – Worship more
Step #5 – Leave

Although structure is not a bad thing at all, and it is obvious that our God is a God of order, this wasn’t what the early Church did. They would meet with great enthusiasm as nobody knew what the Holy Spirit would do next.

#5 – Denominations

This is an obvious one.

Although I don’t give a wooden nickle about whether your are Church of God, Methodist, Baptist or any of that, a great many people do. I have heard stories about people “shunning” others simply because their label.

Something my dad often quotes (I don’t know the source) is:
“Labels either fall off on the way to Heaven or burn off on the way to Hell.”

In celebration of The National Day of Prayer, the pentagon invited Evangelist Franklin Graham to speak at an event.

But on Thursday the Army informed the public that he would no longer be allowed to speak at the event, because of a remark that he made 9 years ago.

What kind of remark, do you suppose, could prevent a Godly man from preaching at a prayer event? Especially after all these years?

He said that Islam was evil.

That’s it. That’s all he said. No death threats, no racist comments, no terrorist talk. He called a religion, that flew planes into the twin towers, evil. And that got him kicked out of the pentagon.

We are at WAR with Islam, and we can’t even throw a verbal attack at it. The army is using a LOT more than sticks and stones against them, killing many, and we are told “shh” when we use words.

Col. Tom Collins was the spokesmen who stated “Our message to our service and civilian work force is about the need for diversity and appreciation of all faiths.”

So, in other words, accept them as you blow them up.

If this country were half Muslim and half Christian, there would be instant civil war. And the Christians would not be the ones to start it. And I have proof! At this very moment there are Christians living in foreign countries like Iraq and Afghanistan. They are the ones being persecuted, not the Muslims.

If this country were half Atheist and half Muslim, we would still have war. Anybody who is not Muslim is to be killed in Jihad.

And this is not radical Islam, mind you. This is deeply embedded in their faith. I dare you to peak at the Koran, and you will see what I am talking about.

Oh, how this upsets me. They can’t just be anti-Christian anymore. They have to be hypocritical too. We can’t pray in school but they can kill Americans.

P.S I guess this means I’ll never speak at the Pentagon. Can’t say that I’m upset.

A man is giving us an appraisal right now. Boy he knows politics. Although I do not agree with everything He says (Marijuana for example,) He has a lot to say that I do.

For example: the purpose of the government. I have always said that they should only be responsible for our border, our military, our roads and our law enforcement. not our farming, our health care, our hospitals or anything else like that. So when they start all these programs they need a way to fund it. And here is how they do it:

Okay, I admit it. I am not a political genius. Not even a little bit. In fact, my views go little beyond what Rush Limbough or Glenn Beck have announced.

So I may be approaching this a little close minded. But then again, my reason has nothing to do with the actual bill.

The #1 reason the bill should not have passed is because the people did not want it to. The majority of American civilians have been crying out against this, yet they forced it into our lives.

So much for freedom, eh?

Now, how is this different from the smoking ban in Michigan, which I support? Well, the current health care that just got eradicated isn’t hurting anybody. Or at least not a viable amount of people, and certainly not as many as the new one will (in my opinion.)

I haven’t been this upset about politics in while. Off goes the radio.

I mean no disrespect to the Catholics who may end up reading this. But I simply cannot take your tradition seriously. I have examined scripture, and have found them to be both pointless and contradictory to the teachings of Jesus Christ.

For example, your near divination of Mary

Take a look at this verse in which Jesus rebukes a woman who praised Mary:

Luke 11:27-28
“And it came to pass, as he spake these things, a certain woman of the company lifted up her voice, and said unto him, Blessed [is] the womb that bare thee, and the paps which thou hast sucked. But he said, Yea rather, blessed [are] they that hear the word of God, and keep it.“

Obviously Christ did not see any need to praise his Mother more than any other.

Sainthood

From what I understand, you must perform various miracles and be dead, among other things, to be considered a Saint among the Catholics.

Let us look at another scripture verse regarding Sainthood:

1 Corinthians 1:2
“Unto the church of God which is at Corinth, to them that are sanctified in Christ Jesus, called [to be] saints, with all that in every place call upon the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, both theirs and ours:”

They’re not dead and there are no miracles to speak of. Why are they regarded as Saints? Because they are sanctified in Jesus Christ.

If that’s not enough for you, here’s another one.

Ephesians 2:19
“Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellowcitizens with the saints, and of the household of God;”

Ephesians has another troubling opposition to Catholics.

Jesus Christ is the mediator

I quoted Ephesians 2:19, but lets step back a little bit and read what else it has to offer:

Ephesians 2:18
“For through him we both have access by one Spirit unto the Father.”

Stop praying to the Saints! Jesus Christ is the only mediator between us and God. Don’t you remember when Saul tried to speak to the prophet Samuel after he had passed away? Was he not rebuked and met with a demon?

Confession

Ephesians 2:8
“For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: [it is] the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.“

Catholics have tried to earn their salvation in a number of ways, including “hail Marys.” Salvation is not for your to earn, but for God to give. Only through his Son Jesus Christ can you be saved.

And no, you are not supposed to confess to a Priest. Look throughout scripture, you will find that the man of God convicts the sinner, and the sinner repents to God.

David for example. He did no apologize to the Prophet who revealed the sin in his life, but rather he fell before God almighty and begged forgiveness.

Here is an account of a dedicated Catholic during confession:

“He told me I was absolved of my sins, and to go in peace.

I stared at him for a moment. “That’s it? Don’t I have to say Hail Marys? Our Fathers? The Creed? The Rosary? Anything?”

He laughed at me and told me to go do a good deed or something.”

There are too many holes and contradiction in Catholicism for me to offer any respect.

I have always said that having a smoking section in a restaurant is like having a pee section in a pool. The dangers of second hand smoking, over hyped or not, are real. In light of this fact Gov. Granholm  has passed a smoke-free law making it illegal to smoke indoors in most of Michigan. Among the few exceptions are the Casinos and Cigar Clubs in Detroit.

Question: is this a violation of our freedom?

I think not. Although the ability to smoke will be taken away from many of our citizens, the health of just as many will be protected. Besides, is it not illegal to smoke marijuana? I would like somebody to tell me why that is illegal, yet smoking in general is not.

Narcotics are addictive, expensive and destructive.
Cigarettes are addictive, expensive and destructive.

Get them both out or neither one. Be consistent in your laws, draw a straight line.

I was worried at first that this law may come too close to violating our freedoms. But when I heard that it only prohibits indoor smoking I saw how health oriented it was, and how it could not be abused.

My brother brought up the point that a man out in the middle of a field smoking would not affect anybody. He should therefore not have his right taken away from him. The outdoors-only detail edifies that.

I was driven to write this post due to the comments I received in my post, “The Shack: Page-By-Page Review.” I was surprised by how many Christians believed women to be equal. I had to take a closer look, and devote a post to it.

Women have gained so much towards equal rights with men. From the voting booth to the workplace, women are gaining a foothold.
In June 2009 women held 49.83% of our Nations jobs. Largely in part to men losing 4.74 million jobs and women only losing 1.66 million. Probably due to employment in growing fields such as government and health care, both dominated by women employees.

This is huge. For the first time in world history women could out-employ men. And for a long time I rooted them on.

Are women truly equal with men? I don’t mean in social standing, as things have far to go. But I mean in capability and design.

Imagine seeing that in your headlines.

No, it has not yet happened. But I was speaking today with my Grandmother about his declining health, and she brought up the fact that we have been losing a lot of good preachers recently.
Where will America go, once these spiritual leaders have passed. If we think things are bad now, what will happen when Billy is gone?

I think things will get better.

2 Kings 2:9
And it came to pass, when they were gone over, that Elijah said unto Elisha, Ask what I shall do for thee, before I be taken away from thee. And Elisha said, I pray thee, let a double portion of thy spirit be upon me.

Elisha received a double portion of Gods anointing on Elijah. What do you think would be the effects of that? Let us look at the miracles preformed and experienced by both.

Elijah:

• Causing the rain the cease for 3 1/2 years (1 Kings 17:1)
• Being fed by the ravens (1 Kings 17:4)
• Miracle of the barrel of meal and cruse of oil (1 Kings 17:14)
• Resurrection of the widow’s son (1 Kings 17:22)
• Calling of fire from heaven on the altar (1 Kings 18:38)
• Causing it to rain (1 Kings 18:45)
• Prophecy that Ahab’s sons would all be destroyed (1 Kings 21:22)
• Prophecy that Jezebel would be eaten by dogs (1 Kings 21:23)
• Prophecy that Ahaziah would die of his illness (2 Kings 1:4)
• Calling fire from heaven upon the first 50 soldiers (2 Kings 2:10)
• Calling fire from heaven upon the second 50 soldiers (2 Kings 2:12)

Surrounding Elijah’s life was 14 miracles. Surrounding Elisha’s life, was 28 miracles. A perfect double.

Imagine that the day Graham passes away, an Evangelist or a humble Christian somewhere becomes anointed two-fold by God. Imagine it were so for every pastor, every evangelist, and every minister.

Scriptures reveal that in the end times, there will be an unprecedented outpouring of the holy spirit. Will this be why?
Good times are ahead of us.

Oh, how I love this video. It’s good, after debating with Atheists and Theists alike for a couple weeks, to step back and remember “I’m not a genius.”

Sapien means wise. Homo means human. Some scientist decided that we are no longer simply wise humans, but we are WISE WISE humans!
