Ever wonder why God, the most powerful and influential being the history of the Universe, does not speak openly with human beings? I have. And for the longest time I could not understand it.

With all the debates about whether or not God exists, whether He created the world or evolution did, or if Jesus Christ is the only way to heaven, you have to wonder why He doesn’t go on Fox-News for 10 seconds and set the record straight. No more mystery. No more confusion. No more ACLU. No more garbage in our schools.

But then again, that’s the problem. If God did show Himself to all of humanity He would in effect remove our freewill. Think about it. Would Adam or Eve have eaten the fruit if God did not leave them alone at times?

Could mankind choose to not follow God if He was as obvious as the sun? If God is going to let us choose for ourselves to put faith in him, he must leave room for doubt. For how can one have faith without the ability to doubt?

Hebrews 11:1
“Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.”

This is probably Sunday-school level for some of you. But it was a revelation for me. Heheh. The way I feel about this was summed up nicely in a book by Lee Strobel, The Case for Faith.

God bless you all. I have been getting so many new readers and users lately it is amazing.

I too have wondered that. The entire time I read I was thinking about Hebrews 11:1. I like the mystery that is in it. Great stuff here man. Keep up the good work.

What a great verse to go along with it.

I think I will add that to the post.

Aren't well all part of gods plan anyway? So there's no freewill only gods plan. If God did show himself to everyone removing all doubt, we would hold him accountable for his suffering he put apon us.

There is both freewill and Gods plan. He has given us a choice of whether or not we will go along with his plan.

The very first example of this is Adam and Eve. God placed the tree in the garden so that they could choose to serve God or themselves. They chose themselves.

If God MADE them eat of the fruit, then he effectively damned a sinless species to Hell because he felt like it. But by letting us choose, he allows a sinful creature to gain forgiveness because he loves us.

Oh please can you get more hypocritical? We got one lot of creationists saying the human inpact on environment through pollution are inconsequential because everything is gods plan which we have no control over.(so don't worry about it) Now there are another lot of you saying we can choose gods plan if we want to. So our actions are our own free will but the consequences of those actions is gods plan? So before adam and eve all there was, was gods plan. So in the plan was adam and eve eating the apple. So God did damn a sinless species to hell because he felt like. After all it was his plan.

If god does exsist it should prove itself, because in a world that is roughly 2/3 non-Christian, that being able to prove that the Christian god exists would change things. For one, we could stop talking about whether or not it exists and just focus on what it wants. We could save so many people's souls! We could get Bible study into schools, as it would then no longer be just a religion, but objective fact. We could open whole new fields of scientific medicine, based on prayer.

Some things we cannot change. Gods law, his creation, etc. But others we can. Whether or not we obey his law, whether or not we obey his plan for our life, etc

Before I ask you anymore questions, are you a Christian, Atheist, Agnostic, or what? This will let me know where you're coming from.

If Gods were to show himself, the whole world would either be Christian or stupid. They would not be Christian because they have faith in him, but rather because he became the most logical and only sane solution to their problems.

He remains hidden so that we may choose to believe in him or deny his existence. Like I said in my post, if he showed himself to us all we would have no choice but Church or the insane asylum.

Cullen, I really, really want to believe in god. I love mythology. I think it would be awsome to live in a world with angels, demons,Gods and magic. I'm trying really hard to believe (have faith). However this crazy thing called logic keeps poping up. So as it stands I would have to say I'm Atheist however I'm trying real hard not to be. Only because this “cause and effect” world we live in is boring and I'd much prefer magic.

You say. >>He remains hidden so that we may choose to believe in him or deny his existence. Like I said in my post, if he showed himself to us all we would have no choice but Church or the insane asylum.<<

Even if God did prove its self some people would still not believe. Like Evolution that been proved and people still don't believe in it, and they don't get sent to the insane asylum.

People are Christian now because to them it's the most logical solution to their problems. Faith is ingnorence of new information.

One quick question. If somethings are our free will and others are Gods plan, who decided that human pollution and there concequences is gods plan and not the doing of our free will? If it is Gods plan why whould he be so cruel to do that to us? If it's our free will why are Christians pushing it as Gods will?
