A couple years ago I did not know too awful much about the Church of Mormon. My only piece of knowledge was that they wrote a book, and added it to the Bible. That in itself turned my heart against them.

Every word of God [is] pure: he [is] a shield unto them that put their trust in him.Add thou not unto his words, lest he reprove thee, and thou be found a liar.
Proverbs 30:6

Let us take a look at some of their beliefs, and how they compare to the un-altered word of God.

The Trinity – Not so Trinity:
It is Mormon teaching that the Godhead (Father, Spirit and Son) is not a united being, but actually 3 different people.
Christianity teaches that there is only one God. And he is complete in three forms, found in this verse:

Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
Matthew 28:19

God in Flesh:
Mormonism teaches that God is in physical form. An actual person.

God [is] a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship [him] in spirit and in truth.
John 4:24

Salvation by Works:
Mormonism requires not only Jesus Christ for salvation, but specific membership within the Mormon church and the practice of certain doctrines.

Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified.
Galatians 2:16

Not so Virgin birth:
A common Mormon teaching is that God himself came to earth and slept with Mary, who then gave birth to Jesus Christ. This both requires God to be physical and denies the virgin birth.

Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.
Matthew 1:23

Once a human, soon to be god:
Mormonism teaches that each and every human will eventually after living a pure life, become god. And be given his/her own universe to rule over. Let us take a look at the original sin.

And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die: For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.
Genesis 3: 4-5

Animals = little people:
In Genesis we learn that unlike everything else in creation, man was given the breath of life. We have an immortal spirit. However, Mormonism teaches that animals as well have spirits.

And the LORD God formed man [of] the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.
Genesis 2:7

These are only a few of many Mormon teachings. The are indeed a cult. But where did this come from?

The history of Mormonism can be found HERE.

Question: Was Joseph Smith insane or did he honestly speak with somebody? I don’t suppose there is a way to know for sure. But I myself believe he was conversing with demonic beings. They are fully capable of portraying themselves as beautiful angelic creatures.

I also believe this is what Mohammad encountered when he spoke with “Allah.”

Here is a video with a bunch of goodies on Mormons:

Thank you for reading. This post was greatly inspired and fueled by the people at CTF.

oh, just watching that video makes me so disgusted! that any man would consider himself above all others is pathetic. that any man would consider himself equal to God, and would make God less than what He is makes me sick. it's wrong.
