A couple years ago I did not know too awful much about the Church of Mormon. My only piece of knowledge was that they wrote a book, and added it to the Bible. That in itself turned my heart against them.

Every word of God [is] pure: he [is] a shield unto them that put their trust in him.Add thou not unto his words, lest he reprove thee, and thou be found a liar.
Proverbs 30:6

Let us take a look at some of their beliefs, and how they compare to the un-altered word of God.

The Trinity – Not so Trinity:
It is Mormon teaching that the Godhead (Father, Spirit and Son) is not a united being, but actually 3 different people.
Christianity teaches that there is only one God. And he is complete in three forms, found in this verse:

Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
Matthew 28:19

God in Flesh:
Mormonism teaches that God is in physical form. An actual person.

God [is] a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship [him] in spirit and in truth.
John 4:24

Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, [even] unto the end of the world. Amen.
Matthew 28:19-20

And he said unto them, Go ye unto all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.
Mark 16:15

Is this a suggestion, or a commission? I understand the fact that not all of us have been called to share the gospel full time. However, we are not excused from sharing it in day-to-day encounters.

I am ashamed of myself for my cowardice concerning this matter. I am without exscuse for not taking advantage of the oportunities given to me by God.

My conviction is deepened after going to this website:

A young man who has devoted his life to sharing the gospel. He obeys the great commission, and has reaped the harvest of it.

Check out the videos he has of open air preaching. They are both convicting and powerful.

I cannot describe to people how much I hate being in skits. Oh the agony. I must learn how to say no sometime soon.

*insert manly screaming noise here*

Anyways, my home is empty. My 2 older sibling have more or less moved out, one is married and the other will be in a matter of days.

We are only missing 2 people, but the house seams to be vacant. Maybe the youngers have simply stopped screaming? I dunno.

A very short while before I have that laptop. I have so many plans for the next few months that wouldn’t be possible without it. The previous 2 videos were developed on my poor older Sisters laptop, among other computers.I think for a period I used it more than her.

I have been unable to think about what to post on recently though. It seams as though the major issues right now are all political. Nobel peace prize, health care, Iraq war, Presidents BBQ, and who can keep track of the rest? *sigh*

I got a bud in Iraq right now who is on his way out. He’ll be in Germany for a very long time, so it’s still awhile before he is home home. But he can be here for Christmas.

Still worries about my future job/ministry floating around in my head. Every once in a while they grab hold of the reins and guide my thoughts. Bad thing.

Debating with people over the morality of Atheism. Apparently I am not allowed to use evolution as an example, because they assume I am saying all evolutionists are atheists, or vice verse. Good grief.

Maybe I’ll post a debate soon about evolution co-existing with theism? Or more specifically, Christianity. These things all seam so impossible to me. Yet there are dozens of people on these forums who have somehow made peace with the idea.

I hate olives.

A long time ago, on a post far far away, I tested IntenseDebate comments on this blog. It didn’t go over so well. It required an account with IntenseDebate, it had trouble syncing with NationPains, and the format was a lil messed up.

After that, I used the default WordPress comment system. *yawn*
Complete with ignorance to line spacing, personal avatars, and reply features.

I am glad to introduce to you, DisQus.

It’s pronounced discuss, and I have fallen in love with it. You can now comment on NationPains using your Facebook, Yahoo or Twitter account. It also has support for Open ID.

Let me know how you guys like it, and if you run into any issues or bugs.

Hasbro’s The Game of Life. I used to enjoy this game. Who wouldn’t enjoy watching their personal little piece of plastic in the shape of a human wrapped in duct tape go through the joys and turmoils of LIFE?

But they have just done something shocking. In there latest downloadable PC game, players can have a spouse of the same sex.

On one hand, I am horrified. This is an unacceptable display of support for a corrupt lifestyle.

On the other hand, I know this is only the beginning. I know there are many other putrid sources for this filth. I can only expect this from a fallen world.

There is a show on ABC right now that is far worse. Yet it is being called one of the greatest comedies of our time. A show about a family anyone can relate to.

What is it?

All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness.
- 2 Timothy 3:16

How much influence did the men used by God have on the scriptures? After all, we are not perfect. Maybe they “misunderstood” God.

This is a very real possibility, if you were only to look at the men. But take a look at God, and at the scriptures itself. Would God allow his word, the only thing we have on this broken earth to understand the way God thinks and acts to be corrupt?

I think not. And it shows itself.

Scriptures authority by means of Gods inspiration, is much like the message I just wrote.

Why would you ever believe that the keyboard was responsible for these words on the screen? After all, the buttons are in the right place, and its connected to the computer.

After reading it though, you can easily realize that there is a person behind it. It expresses emotion, independent intelligence and authority a simple keyboard does not have.

When you read the bible, you could probably assume humans wrote it. After all, the language was in place and men have written books (or scrolls) before.

But as you read it and examine the Prophesy, Science and Philosophy of the Bible, you realize there is a God behind it. All those authors could not have written such a powerful, accurate or united piece of work no more than you could turn over your keyboard, drop it, and get the same pattern every time.

The scriptures are beyond human capability.

Besides, if you question one piece of scripture, you would have to question it all.

The only thing between us and eternity is life. And that is the most fragile thing on Earth.

I cannot imagine going through life with a fear of death. What constant paranoia must plague the minds of the un-saved…
It would be unbarable. Not knowing of the afterlife, or of your destination.

Here is a list of interesting final words:

Ludwig Van Beethoven: Too bad, too bad! It’s too late!

Anne Boleyn: O God, have pity on my soul. O God, have pity on my soul.

Here it is. The new video.

Dispite its name, there are no prophets speaking in it like ”The Passion Promise.” The prophecy is that of Jesus Christ, fullfilled 2,000 years ago.

He is more than the reason of the season. He is the reason for everything and for always.
